You should definitely be careful and make sure to ask the right questions!

What we need is more buzz words to confuse and potentially make our jobs a little more difficult. Enter Ai or artificial intelligence. I say chatbot, you say OpenAi. I say Bard, you say Magi (google them). I know you are all familiar with those terms and we have not even started to talk about procurement yet. So, my guidance is to be careful and self-educate as much as possible. My experience is that the procurement space is where technology comes to roost. If some new tool comes out procurement is one of the 1st areas that people, try to integrate and deploy within their current solution set. As an example, think Ai and machine language as a potential training solution for any number of applications. Just listen to Industry leading companies and how often Artificial Intelligence is brought up in procurement related conversations. Today, it is literally all the time.
So where do you start to get the basics. I’d suggest looking at how the big companies are using or developing their Ai strategy. Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta all have robust strategies’ and have chosen partners to work with. A good example would be Microsoft and OpenAi.
I have posted on this subject matter a number of times recently Here’s a recent post on chatbots. At SafeSourcing we too have to figure out where to deploy this type of technology to the benefit of our users.
