Weather and other natural disasters can dictate that the opportunity is right for a spot buy even when you already have a contract in place?
Believe it or not I recently visited a store of a major retailer?whose shelves looked just like this (not this picture) but unfortunately looked much the same.?To me that?equals a broken procurement department, a broken supply chain and maybe even a broken company?as well as ?a huge opportunity for a huge?spot buy with local suppliers if they want to resolve the issue quickly.
